The Global Water Partnership (GWP), together with Institut français de Suède, organizes a conference entitled Floods – Preventing Disasters and Managing Development on Tuesday 25th August.
The conference will take place during the World Water Week in Stockholm and presents experiences from the EU and developing countries in order to identify key actors towards more pro-active attitudes. Regis THEPOT, Deputy General Secretary of the French Water Academy, will talk about making cities more resilient to extreme hydrological events, taking Paris and the Seine basin as an example. Barbro NÄSLUND LANDENMARK, expert at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), will make a presentation on the implementation of the European flood directive in Sweden.
