French Express is a Nordic touring support created by the Institut français in Paris, le Bureau Export and the local Institut français’ of Denmark, Norway and Sweden in order to support new and emerging ‘Made in France’ artists, DJs and bands touring in the Nordic countries.
In collaboration with Swedish live music promoter Monstera, this group of partners has supported 6 tours in recent years for artists and projects such as Owlle (2013), Christine and the Queens (2014), La Femme (2015), Broken Back (2016), Superpoze (2017) and Juveniles (2017).
With a mission to support artists develop new audiences and professional networks in the Nordic countries, the above partners have launched a first call for applications for a tour in the Spring of 2018 for electronic artists, now closed.
For the second call, we will be looking to support live acts (Genre: Pop, Rock or Urban) that can tour a minimum of 4 dates in Denmark, Norway and Sweden in the Fall of 2018 (Sept – November). This year we are also aiming for a double bill, with two French acts to tour the region together under the French Express brand.
Conditions for eligibility :
- The application must be submitted only by the professional teams of the artists / bands (no direct artist application)
- In order to be eligible for the tour, artists must have either their record label, publisher or live music agent/producer as a member of Le Bureau Export for 2018.
- Please note that touring abroad is expensive, and that our funding does not cover all of the tour budget expenses (70% at the very maximum). Some investment, both in time & financial, will be required from the artists’ teams (record label, agent, mgmt).
