French-Swedish Research and Innovation Days 2026:

On 16–17 September 2026, the French-Swedish Research and Innovation Days brought together nearly 100 academic, industrial and institutional stakeholders from France and Sweden in Stockholm to explore these challenges and opportunities.

Organised by the French Embassy in Sweden and the French Institute, in cooperation with Svensk Elektronik and with the support of the French-Swedish Association for Research (AFSR), JFSR 2026 brought together researchers, universities, companies, research organisations and public and innovation stakeholders.

This year’s edition focused on semiconductors, a sector at the heart of today’s technological and industrial transformations. Over two days, participants exchanged expertise on the latest scientific and technological developments, industrial challenges and opportunities for European cooperation.

Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including semiconductor materials and nanotechnology, sustainability and energy efficiency, manufacturing processes, power electronics, heterogeneous integration, telecommunications applications and electronics for extreme environments.

Beyond the scientific presentations and discussions, the event allowed us to build new connections between the French and Swedish ecosystems and identify concrete opportunities for collaboration.

Three perspectives on French-Swedish cooperation

During the conference, we interviewed three experts involved in French-Swedish cooperation in electronics and semiconductors:
Thomas Ernst, Scientific Director at CEA-Leti and co-leader of the French PEPR Electronics programme,
Laurence Dassas, Executive Director of the Fédération de l’Électronique Française,
and Bruno Paing, Head of International Relations at CEA-Leti.
