Discover the Ömse program

FRÖmobilité

What is the Ömse program?

Like all our mobility programs, the Ömse program aims to increase scientific cooperation and exchange of experience between France and Sweden. Ömse allows jointly supervised doctoral students to travel for the purposes of their research. Both supervisors can also receive travel grants.

What is a joint supervision (cotutelle)?

The joint supervision is an agreement that allows a PhD student to complete their doctoral studies at two universities, in this case one in France and one in Sweden. In a cotutelle doctoral program the student is jointly supervised by a thesis supervisor at each institution and attends the two universities alternately.

What does this funding program cover?

The Ömse program laureates receive financial assistance to cover the costs of travel and subsistence, excluding all other expenses. The standard travel shall be economy class or equivalent, from France or Sweden.

Who can apply?

The program is open to all PhD students regularly enrolled in a joint supervision between a French institution and a Swedish institution. All fields of research are accepted, whether it is in the exact sciences, the humanities or the social sciences. The selection of a student for the Ömse program automatically results in a grant for each of his two supervisors.

How to apply?

You will need to complete an online form between October 1st  and November 30th here:

Ömse application form

Results will be published on our website and an individual email will be sent to all applicants (December 19th 2016).

The grant must be used during 2017.
