Welcome to our annual French-Swedish Research Days: Journées franco-suédoises de la recherche!
This year’s event will be held at Stockholm University on September 30th and October 1st, in collaboration with Stockholm University, the Association franco-suédoise pour la recherche (AFSR) and the French Embassy in Sweden.
The 2025 French-Swedish Research Day’s theme is CCUS: Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage.
CCUS is a process by which carbon dioxide (CO2) is removed from the atmosphere or separated before being released into the atmosphere, then used in a range of applications, or transported to a long-term storage location.
The objectives:
- Implement the French-Swedish strategic innovation partnership for sustainable, digital and resilient societies, which was renewed on 30 January 2024, during the State visit of the President of the French Republic to Sweden;
- Take stock of existing industrial and scientific cooperation in the field of CCUS with a view to strengthening it;
- Promote and initiate specific collaborations between France and Sweden in the field of CCUS to contribute to European excellence and sovereignty in this area at several levels.

- Session 1: Objectives and national strategies – Context and key figures.
- Session 2: Industry round table – ambitions, challenges and opportunities on CCUS projects in Sweden and in France.
- Session 3: Carbon capture – innovation and challenges
- Session 4: Carbon storage and utilisation
- Session 5: Societal impact
