This year, the French Embassy to Sweden and the Institut français de Suède, in collaboration with Svenskt Kärntekniskt Centrum (SKC, the Swedish Centre for Nuclear Technology), will give five students the opportunity to attend this major event through the distribution of mobility grants.

Who can apply:

This call is open to master and PhD students studying or conducting research in a Swedish university, with no condition on nationality.

About the grant:

The registration to the exhibition is free (registration link HERE). The financial support consists of a lump sum of 10,000SEK. This grant will aim at covering the travel and accommodation costs of selected students from November 3 to November 6.

Selection procedure:

Applications will be evaluated by a jury set up by the Institut français de Suède and SKC. A total of five grants will be awarded. Two spots are reserved for students that attended a SKC event during 2025.

After the mobility, the selected students will have to share with Institut français de Suède and SKC a short summary of their findings about a topic of their choice covered by the exhibition.

In their application, candidates must also propose a post-mobility action to promote the topics covered during the WNE on civil nuclear power. The format may be aimed at the general public or at a more scientific and specialised audience. Examples of such actions could be: social media posts about the visit to WNE, article to be published online (French Embassy’s website or other), presentation or seminar talk that could be proposed during one of the courses on civil nuclear energy at one of the Swedish universities (candidates are free to propose a format of their choice and are not required to limit themselves to the list above).

Criteria for the evaluation of applications:

  • Individual academic record of the applicant /2 points
  • Motivation /3 points
  • Relevance of the topic chosen for the short summary /3 points
  • Proposals concerning the format of the post-mobility action /2 points

The French Embassy and the Institut français de Suède support equal opportunities and the jury will strive to attain parity in the list of supported students.

Application procedure:

Applicants must complete an online form and provide:

  • A résumé (CV)
  • A motivation letter mentioning:
    • specific reasons for the applicant’s interest in visiting WNE;
    • which topic they would like to report on through the short summary;
